Role Summary

The Consultant Optometrist is the primary vision care professional in the store, responsible for delivering accurate eye examinations and guiding customers through informed eyewear and lens choices. This role blends clinical precision with confident customer consultation.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations accurately and efficiently.
• Interpret prescriptions and recommend appropriate vision solutions.
• Maintain consultation accuracy, documentation, and equipment standards.

Customer Consultation

• Guide customers clearly from eye testing to product selection.
• Explain lens and eyewear options in a simple, reassuring manner.
• Handle basic customer escalations with empathy and professionalism.

Collaboration

• Work closely with store teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
• Perform basic frame adjustments and fittings.

Growth at Eyesense

Consultant Optometrists develop strong consultative selling skills, learning how to communicate value, build trust, and guide customers through confident decision-making  a critical skill for long-term professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Optometry (B.Optom) or a Diploma with 2 year work experience.
• Valid professional registration where applicable.
• Strong communication skills and customer-centric mindset.
• Willingness to grow beyond clinical expertise into customer consultation.
